וַיִּגַּ֤ע{va-yig-GA###vah-yihg-GA###and reached} הַדָּבָר֙{ha-da-VAR###hah-daa-VAR###the word or the matter} אֶל־מֶ֣לֶך{el-ME-lekh###ehl-MEH-lehkh###to the king of} נִֽינְוֵ֔ה{nin-VE###nih-n-VEH###Nineveh} וַיָּ֙קָם֙{va-ya-KAM###vah-yaa-KAAM###and he arose} מִכִּסְא֔וֹ{mi-kis-O###mih-kihs-OH###from his throne} וַיַּעֲבֵ֥ר{va-ya-a-VER###vah-yah-ah-VEER###and he removed or and he caused to pass away} אַדַּרְתּ֖וֹ{a-DAR-to###ah-DAR-toh###his robe} מֵֽעָלָ֑יו{me-a-LAV###mee-ah-LAAV###from upon him} וַיְכַ֣ס{va-ye-KHAS###vah-yeh-KHAHS###and he covered} שַׂ֔ק{SAK###SAHK###sackcloth} וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב{va-ye-SHEV###vah-yee-SHEHV###and he sat} עַל־הָאֵֽפֶר׃{al-ha-E-fer###ahl-haa-EH-fehr###upon the ashes}
