וַיַּזְעֵ֗ק{va-yaz-EK###vah-yahz-EHK###and he caused to be cried out or proclaimed} וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙{va-YO-mer###vah-YOH-mehr###and he said} בְּנִֽינְוֵ֔ה{be-nin-VE###beh-neen-VEH###in Nineveh} מִטַּ֧עַם{mit-TA-am###miht-TAH-ahm###from the decree or from the command} הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ{ha-ME-lekh###hah-MEH-lehkh###the king} וּגְדֹלָ֖יו{u-gdo-LAV###oo-geh-doh-LAAV###and his great ones or his nobles} לֵאמֹ֑ר{le-MOR###lee-MOHR###saying} הָאָדָ֨ם{ha-A-dam###haa-AH-dahm###the human or the man} וְהַבְּהֵמָ֜ה{ve-ha-be-he-MA###veh-hah-beh-hee-MAA###and the beast or the animal} הַבָּקָ֣ר{ha-ba-KAR###hah-bah-KAAR###the cattle or the herd} וְהַצֹּ֗אן{ve-ha-TSON###veh-hah-TSOHN###and the flock} אַֽל־יִטְעֲמוּ֙{al-yit-a-MU###ahl-yih-tah-MOO###let them not taste} מְא֔וּמָה{me-u-MA###meh-oo-MAA###anything} אַ֨ל־יִרְע֔וּ{al-yir-EU###ahl-yihr-EH-OO###let them not graze or feed} וּמַ֖יִם{u-ma-YIM###oo-mah-YIHM###and water} אַל־יִשְׁתּֽוּ׃{al-yish-TU###ahl-yiish-TOO###let them not drink}
