6. Formal Translation And the LORD God {Yahweh-Elohim, Sovereign Provider} appointed a qiqayon to come up from above over Jonah, to be shade over his head, to deliver for him from his distress. And Jonah rejoiced over the qiqayon with great joy. |
6. Dynamic Translation Then the LORD God {Yahweh-Elohim, Merciful Rescuer} arranged for it to grow up over Jonah so there would be shade over his head, to save him from his trouble. Jonah was very glad about the plant. |
