Joshua 15:35ExegesisTAB

Joshua 15 : 35 Boundary | Settlement | Geography
35. Linguistic Exegesis
The verse is a paratactic list of proper nouns: yarmut {יַרְמוּת | yarmûṯ} ‘Jarmuth’, ʿaḏullam {עֲדֻלָּם | ʿaḏullam} ‘Adullam’, soqōh {שׂוֹכֹה | soqōh} ‘Socoh’, and ʿazēqah {עֲזֵקָה | ʿazēqah} ‘Azekah’. Each item beyond the first is linked by the waw-conjunction {וְ | wə} ‘and’, producing a simple coordinate enumeration. The names appear in the absolute state without definite articles, marking them as distinct place names. The final disjunctive accent on ʿazēqah signals the end of the verse.
