| 28. Formal Translation And we said, “If in the future they speak to us or to our generations, we will say, ‘Look at the model of the altar of the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Witness} that our fathers made—not for burnt offerings nor for sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.’” |
| 28. Dynamic Translation So we said, “If they ever say this to us or our descendants in the days to come, we will answer, ‘See this replica of the LORD’s {Yahweh, Peace Guardian} altar that our ancestors built—not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.’” |
