24. Formal Translation And it happened when Israel finished killing all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness where they had chased them, and when they had all fallen by the edge of the sword until they were destroyed, all Israel returned to Ai and struck it by the edge of the sword. |
24. Dynamic Translation After Israel had finished wiping out all the inhabitants of Ai in the field and in the wilderness where they had pursued them until every one fell by the sword, all the Israelites returned to Ai and killed everyone inside. |
