33. Formal Translation And all Israel, with its elders, officials, and judges, stood on both sides of the ark, opposite the Levitical priests bearing the ark of the covenant of the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant-Keeper}; both the foreigner and the native-born were among them. Half the people stood before Mount Gerizim and half before Mount Ebal, just as Moses, the servant of the LORD, had commanded at the beginning to bless the people of Israel. |
33. Dynamic Translation The entire community of Israel—including elders, officers, and judges—stood on both sides of the ark, facing the Levitical priests carrying the ark of the Lord {Yahweh, Faithful-Ruler}. Both foreigners and native-born Israelites were there. Half of the assembly faced Mount Gerizim and the other half faced Mount Ebal, just as Moses, the Lord’s servant, had commanded earlier to bless the people of Israel. |
