| 6. Formal Translation The Philistines said, “Who has done this?” And they said, “Samson, the Timnite’s son-in-law, because he took his wife and gave her to his companion.” Then the Philistines went up and burned her and her father with fire. |
| 6. Dynamic Translation The Philistines demanded, “Who did this?” The answer came, “Samson—the one married into the Timnite’s family—because his wife was taken from him and given to his friend.” So the Philistines went and burned the woman and her father in the flames. |
