Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Judges 4:20:1 ⧉וַיֹּ֣אמֶרvayomerand he said Judges 4:20:2 ⧉אֵלֶ֔יהָelehato her Judges 4:20:3 ⧉עֲמֹ֖דamodstand Judges 4:20:4 ⧉פֶּ֣תַחpetakhat the opening of Judges 4:20:5 ⧉הָאֹ֑הֶלhaohelthe tent Judges 4:20:6 ⧉וְהָיָה֩vehayaand it shall be Judges 4:20:7 ⧉אִם־אִ֨ישׁimishif a man Judges 4:20:8 ⧉יָב֜וֹאyavocomes Judges 4:20:9 ⧉וּשְׁאֵלֵ֗ךְusheelekhand asks you Judges 4:20:10 ⧉וְאָמַ֛רveamarand says Judges 4:20:11 ⧉הֲיֵֽשׁ־פֹּ֥הhayeshpois there here Judges 4:20:12 ⧉אִ֖ישׁisha man Judges 4:20:13 ⧉וְאָמַ֥רְתְּveamartekthen you shall say Judges 4:20:14 ⧉אָֽיִן׃ayinno |
20. Formal Translation And he said to her, “Stand in the entrance of the tent. And it shall be that if a man comes and asks you, saying, ‘Is there a man here?’ then you shall say, ‘There is none.’” |
20. Dynamic Translation He told her, “Stand at the doorway of the tent. If anyone comes and asks you, ‘Is anyone in here?’ say ‘No one is here.’” |
