11. Formal Translation And the angel of the LORD {Yahweh, Messenger of Deliverance} came and sat under the terebinth that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite. And Gideon his son was threshing wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites. |
11. Dynamic Translation Then the angel of the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Rescuer} arrived and rested beneath the terebinth in Ophrah on the land owned by Joash the Abiezrite. Meanwhile, his son Gideon was secretly threshing wheat inside the winepress to keep it out of sight from Midian’s people. |
