27. Formal Translation So Gideon took ten men from among his servants and did just as the LORD had spoken to him. But because he feared the house of his father and the men of the city, he did it by night rather than by day. |
27. Dynamic Translation Gideon gathered ten of his servants and did exactly what the LORD told him. However, since he was afraid of his family and the people of the town, he did it at night instead of during the day. |
