28. Formal Translation When the men of the city rose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was pulled down, and the Asherah that stood beside it was cut down, and the second bull was offered on the altar that had been built. |
28. Dynamic Translation Early the next morning, the townspeople discovered that Baal’s altar had been pulled down, the Asherah pole beside it was chopped down, and the second bull was sacrificed on the newly built altar. |
