28. Formal Translation And Gaal son of Eved said, “Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? Is he not the son of Jerubbaal, and is not Zebul his officer? Serve the men of Hamor, the father of Shechem; but why should we serve him?” |
28. Dynamic Translation Then Gaal, son of Eved, exclaimed, “Who is Abimelech? Who is Shechem, that we should serve him? Is he not merely the son of Jerubbaal, and is Zebul not his deputy? Serve the men of Hamor, the father of Shechem; so why should we serve Abimelech?” |
