8. Formal Translation Jerusalem has surely sinned; therefore she has become an outcast. All who once honored her now despise her, because they have seen her nakedness. She herself groans and turns back. |
8. Dynamic Translation Jerusalem sinned deeply; that is why she became unclean. Everyone who used to respect her now looks down on her, for they saw her shame. She moans and withdraws. |
