8. Formal Translation
Jerusalem has surely sinned; therefore she has become an outcast. All who once honored her now despise her, because they have seen her nakedness. She herself groans and turns back.
8. Dynamic Translation
Jerusalem sinned deeply; that is why she became unclean. Everyone who used to respect her now looks down on her, for they saw her shame. She moans and withdraws.
