5. Formal Translation
The Lord {Adonai, Sovereign Master} became like an enemy—He swallowed up Israel; He swallowed up all her palaces. He demolished her strongholds, and He multiplied mourning and lamentation in the daughter of Judah.
5. Dynamic Translation
The Lord {Adonai, Ruling Authority} treated Israel like a foe—He devoured her and her palaces, dismantled her strongholds, and filled the people of Judah with lamentation and grief.
