Exegesis

The judicial imputation dam yeḥašev la’ish hahu {דָּם יֵחָשֵׁב לָאִישׁ הַהוּא | dām yê-ḥā-šêḇ lā-ʾîš ha-hûʾ} ‘blood shall be imputed to that man’ uses the Nifal imperfect to denote legal guilt.

Finally, veniḵraṯ ha’ish hahu mi-kerev ammo {וְנִכְרַת הָאִישׁ הַהוּא מִקֶּרֶב עַמּוֹ | wə-nik-rat hā-ʾîš ha-hûʾ miq-qě-reḇ ʿam-mōʾ} ‘and he shall be cut off from among his people’ employs the vav consecutive prefix + Nifal perfect to pronounce communal exclusion.
