| 16. Formal Translation And whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD {Yahweh, Supreme Judge} must surely be put to death; the entire congregation shall stone him. As with the foreigner, so with the native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, he shall be put to death. |
| 16. Dynamic Translation Anyone who curses the LORD’s {Yahweh, Covenant Enforcer} name must be executed; everyone in the community has to stone that person. This law applies equally to foreigners and native Israelites—whoever curses the Name must be put to death. |
