Formal Translation And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit {Pneuma Hagion, Life-Giving Presence} will come upon you, and the power of the Most High {Hypsistos, Sovereign God} will overshadow you; therefore also the Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God {Huios Theou, Incarnate Son}.” |
35. Dynamic Translation The angel replied to her, “The Holy Spirit {Pneuma Hagion, Creative Power} will come upon you, and the power of the Most High {Hypsistos, Most Exalted} will overshadow you; so the child you will bear will be called the Son of God {Huios Theou, Divine King}.” |
