14. Formal Translation And that which fell among the thorns—these are those who have heard; yet as they go, they are choked by the cares {merimna: anxieties, distractions} and the wealth and the pleasures of this life, and they do not bear fruit to maturity. |
14. Dynamic Translation What fell among the thorns represents those who have heard, but as they go on their way they are choked by worries, wealth, and pleasures, and so they do not produce mature fruit. |
