6. Formal Translation A son honors his father, and a servant honors his master. But if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Supreme Commander} to you priests who despise My name. Yet you say, “In what way have we despised Your name?” |
6. Dynamic Translation Children show honor to their fathers, and servants show respect to their masters. So if I am your Father, where is the honor owed to Me? And if I am your Master, where is the reverent fear owed to Me? says the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Commander of Armies} to you priests who despise My name. Yet you ask, “How have we despised Your name?” |
