16. Formal Translation “For the man who hates and divorces,” says the LORD {Yahweh, Protector of Covenant}, the God of Israel; “and he covers his garment with violence,” says the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tzevaot, Upholding Justice}. Then you shall guard your spirit and refrain from treachery. |
16. Dynamic Translation “The man who hates and divorces covers himself with violence,” says the LORD {Yahweh, Protector of Marriage}, the God of Israel, and the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tzevaot, Just Judge} says, “Watch over your spirit and do not betray trust.” |
