36. Formal Translation
And someone, having run and having filled a sponge with vinegar, and having put it on a reed, was giving Him {Iesous, Crucified King} a drink, saying, “Leave Him alone; let us see if Elijah comes to take Him down.”
36. Dynamic Translation
Then someone ran, soaked a sponge in sour wine, put it on a stick, and offered it to Him {Iesous, Suffering Savior} to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone; let us see whether Elijah will come to take Him down.”
