A second hina-clause, hina mē thlibōsin auton {ἵνα μὴ θλίβωσιν αὐτόν | hína mḕ thlí-bō-sin au-tón}, combines hina with the negative mē and the present subjunctive thlibōsin to express the intended prevention of ongoing pressing or crushing by the people. English renders both hina-clauses as purpose structures (“Have … kept ready” and “so that … might not crush”) to preserve the sequence of intention: first provision, then protection.
