And He {Iesous, Returning Teacher} entered again into a synagogue {synagogen: local worship place}, and there was a man there having a withered hand.
And they were watching Him {Compassionate Healer} closely to see whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse {kategoréo: formal charges} Him.
And He {Christos, Healing Lord} said to the man {anthropos: frail human} with the withered hand, “Stand up in the middle.”
And He {Iesous, Righteous Questioner} said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath {sabbasin: sacred rest day} to do good, or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
And after looking around at them in anger, and grieving over the hardness {porosis: stubborn resistance} of their hearts, He {Christos: Divine Healer} says to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” Then he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
After departing, the Pharisees immediately conferred with the Herodians against Him {Iesous, Rejected Messiah}, planning how they might destroy {apolesōsin: put to death} Him.
And Jesus {Iesous, Sought Teacher} withdrew with His disciples to the sea, and a great crowd {plethos: large gathering} from Galilee and also from Judea followed Him.
And from Jerusalem and from Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude {plethos: large gathering}, hearing all that He {Iesous, Miracle Worker} was doing, came to Him.
And He {Iesous, Wise Protector} said to His disciples, “Have a small boat kept ready for Him because of the crowd {ochlos: packed multitude}, so that they might not crush Him.”
For He {Iesous, Compassionate Healer} healed many, so that they were pressing upon Him in order to touch Him, as many as had diseases {mastigas: tormenting afflictions}.
And whenever the unclean spirits {pneumata: defiled spiritual beings} saw Him, they fell down before Him and cried out, “You are the Son of God {Theos, the one true God}.”
And He {Iesous, Silent Messiah} strictly warned them so that they would not make Him known {phaneron: publicly revealed}.
He {Iesous, Sovereign Initiator} went up into the mountain {oros: place of revelation} and called to Himself those whom He wanted, and they came to Him.
And He {Iesous, Discipleship Initiator} appointed twelve, so that they might be with Him, and so that He might send them to preach {keryssein: public proclamation}.
And to have authority {exousia: delegated right} to cast out the demons {daimonia: unclean spirits}.
And He {Iesous, Apostle Appointer} appointed the twelve, and He gave the name Peter {Petros: Rock Identity} to Simon.
And James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, and He {Iesous, Name-Giver} gave them the name Boanerges, which is Sons of Thunder {bronte: booming sound}.
And Andrew, and Philip {Philippon: Greek name}, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus {Halphaiou: his father}, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean.
And Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed {paredoken: deliberate treachery} Him {Iesous, Patient Sufferer}.
And He {Iesous, Visiting Lord} comes into the house, and again the crowd {ochlos: gathered throng} gathers, so that they are not able to eat bread.
And when His {Iesous, Misunderstood Son} family heard, they went out to seize Him, for they were saying, “He is out of His mind {exestē: lost senses}.”
And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem kept saying, “He {Iesous, Holy Deliverer} has Beelzeboul, and by the ruler {archon: chief leader} of the demons He is casting out the demons.”
And after He {Iesous, Teaching Messiah} had called them to Himself, He said to them in parables {parabole: illustrative comparisons}, “How is Satan able to cast out Satan?”
And if a kingdom {basileia: realm of dominion} is split against itself, that kingdom will not be able to stand {stathenai: remain enduring}.
And if a house {oikia: foundational unit} is divided against itself, that household will not have strength to stand {stathenai: remain upright}.
And if Satan {Satanas: Adversary} has risen up against himself and has been divided, he is not able to stand, but has an end {telos: final outcome}.
But no one is able to go into the house of a strong man and seize his goods unless he first binds the strong man {ischyros: possessor of power}; only then can he plunder that house {oikia: dwelling place}.
Truly, I {Iesous, Gracious Forgiver} say to you, all the sins will be forgiven to the sons of men, and the blasphemies {blasphemiai: slanderous speech}, whatever they may blaspheme.
But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit {pneuma hagion, God’s Holy Presence} does not have forgiveness {aphesis: full release} forever, but is guilty of an eternal sin.
Because they were saying {elegon: ongoing accusation}, “He has an unclean spirit {akatharton: ritually impure}.”
And His {Iesous, Incarnate Son} mother and His brothers {adelphoi: male family members} came, and standing outside, they sent word to Him, calling Him.
And a crowd was sitting around Him {Iesous, Attentive Teacher}, and they said to Him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers are outside seeking {zeteo: to strive for intently} you.”
And having answered them, He {Iesous, Probing Teacher} said, “Who is My mother, or My brothers {adelphoi: blood relatives}?”
And having looked around at those sitting {kathemenous: seated disciples} in a circle around Him, He {Iesous, Family Reformer} says, “Behold, My mother and My brothers!”
For whoever does the will of God {Theos, Family Definer}, this one is My brother and My sister and My mother {meter: Spiritual Caregiver}.
