It changed the messenger into someone else

The messenger goes in front of the one addressed

The messenger is sent to replace the one addressed

Help make room for Jesus by removing obstacles and pointing people toward him

Keep the attention on yourself so your work is noticed

Wait passively and let someone else handle preparation

Focus mostly on your own comfort and assume readiness will happen later

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned, gone my own way, and need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Make a way for me to walk with you from this day forward. Amen.

Lord, Make a Way for Me

Father, revive your Church to be a people who go ahead with humility and faithfulness. Where we have made ourselves the center, turn our eyes back to Jesus. Make us ready to serve, ready to speak, and ready to clear the path for your work in homes, churches, and neighborhoods, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prepare Your Church

Pray by naming one area where you feel unready or blocked, ask God to go before you, and ask for one simple step that helps you make room for his work today.

Ask God to Go Ahead of You

Pray for: one person who needs a clearer path to Jesus; obstacles, distractions, or fears that keep them from seeing him; and a gentle messenger who can point them forward.

For Someone Still Far from Christ

Bring these to God: a desire to prepare for his work instead of rushing ahead; willingness to serve without needing credit; and courage to make space for others to meet Christ.

Learning to Serve Ahead

Thank God that his plans are not random, that Scripture speaks before the moment arrives, and that he sends help ahead so his people can walk in his way with confidence.
