The apodosis resumes with meizon ton lachanon estin {μεῖζον τῶν λαχάνων ἐστὶν | meî-zon tôn la-chá-nōn e-stìn}, another comparative construction, now against the wider class of lachanon “garden plants,” followed by kai ginetai dendron {καὶ γίνεται δένδρον | kai gí-ne-tai dén-dron}, where the intransitive middle ginetai marks a change of state: it “comes to be” a tree.
