Waiting to respect them until they become impressive

Paying attention only when they can help you

Assuming they matter less than stronger people

The verse warns against treating people who seem small as worthless.

Their angels are continually in the Father's presence in heaven.

Come to the One Who Sees the Small

Father, revive your Church where we have become careless with the weak, the quiet, the young, and the easily missed. Give us the humility to honor people heaven notices, and make our hearts tender, attentive, and slow to dismiss anyone. Wake us up again to your ways, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Honor the Small

Lord, forgive me for the moments when I have brushed people aside, ranked them by usefulness, or acted as if they mattered less. Cleanse my heart of pride and give me a gentler way of seeing. Help me turn from contempt and choose honor, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Forgive Our Contempt

Bring these thanks to God: that he does not overlook the small; that heaven is attentive to people the world may dismiss; that his care is steady even when human attention is not.

Thanks That None Are Unseen

Pray by naming one person you usually miss or dismiss. Ask God to help you see that person as he sees them, and ask for one concrete way to show respect this week.

Pray to Notice the Overlooked

Pray for the child, new believer, quiet friend, or marginalized person who may feel unseen today. Ask God to surround them with comfort, protect them from contempt, and place wise, kind people around them.
