| 8. Formal Translation If then your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, sever it and cast it away from yourself; for it is better for you to go into life maimed or lame than, with two hands or two feet intact, to be cast into the eternal fire. |
| 8. Dynamic Translation So if your hand or your foot leads you into sin, cut it off and throw it away; entering life crippled or lame is better than being thrown into the everlasting fire with two hands or two feet. |
