8. Formal Translation
If then your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, sever it and cast it away from yourself; for it is better for you to go into life maimed or lame than, with two hands or two feet intact, to be cast into the eternal fire.
8. Dynamic Translation
So if your hand or your foot leads you into sin, cut it off and throw it away; entering life crippled or lame is better than being thrown into the everlasting fire with two hands or two feet.
