Bring the desire to Jesus and let him set the place

Keep the desire private and never pray about it

Ask for the highest seat so your family stands out

Treat status as more important than the kingdom itself

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and gone my own way. I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord. Bring me into your kingdom and teach me to follow you. Amen.

Receive the King

Lord, revive your Church where we have chased honor, rank, and the best place. Teach us to come honestly before you, to seek your kingdom above our own promotion, and to serve with joy instead of comparing ourselves with others. Make us humble people who pray cleanly and love faithfully, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

A Church Free from Status-Seeking

Father, thank you that you hear real desires when we bring them to you. Thank you that Jesus listens, questions us, and receives honest words instead of polished performances. Help us trust your wisdom with what we ask, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thanks for Hearing Honest Requests

Begin by naming one desire you carry for yourself or for someone you love. Ask Jesus to shape that desire by his kingdom, and then ask him to show you the humble next step you should take.

Pray the Desire Out Loud

Pray for children, grandchildren, students, and younger believers: that they would desire Jesus more than recognition, and that God would give them wise places to serve rather than places to impress.

For Children and Loved Ones

Praise Jesus for hearing our requests, for ruling his kingdom wisely, and for giving each person a place according to his good will. Worship him as the King who is more trustworthy than our own ambitions.
