It recognized him immediately without asking

Pause and ask who Jesus is, then listen carefully

Treat the disturbance as a reason to ignore him

Wait until everyone else has settled the matter first

Assume curiosity alone is enough without any response

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, you came near and you are worthy of my attention. I admit that I have sinned and cannot save myself. I turn from my sin and from living as my own lord. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and ask you to rule my life. Amen.

Receive the King

Lord, when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred. Stir your Church again with a fresh awareness of your presence. Deliver us from dull hearts, routine religion, and quiet indifference. Make us a people who notice Jesus, ask the right question, and point others to him, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Stir Your Church Again

Lord, forgive me for the times I hear about Jesus and stay unchanged. Turn my curiosity into faith, my hesitation into obedience, and my questions into honest prayer, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Pray by naming one place where Jesus is unsettling your assumptions, then ask God to show you who Jesus is and what response he wants from you.

Pray the Question Honestly

Thank God for: Jesus entering real places; his presence that matters to ordinary people; the mercy of being able to ask about his identity and seek the answer.

Thank You for Coming Near

Pray for: your city or neighborhood to take notice of Jesus; people who are curious but uncertain; believers to speak clearly and graciously when others ask who Jesus is.
