Jesus said he would not tell them by what authority he was acting

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have sinned by living on my own authority, and I need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Take your rightful place over my life and lead me in your truth. Amen.

Come Under Jesus' Authority

Lord, revive your church to answer you with humility and truth. Where we have pretended to know more than we do, forgive us. Where we have resisted your rightful rule, bring us back to glad obedience. Make us a people who speak truth, admit limits, and honor your authority in every conversation, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Honest Witness in Your Church

Father, when I feel pressure to sound wiser than I am, keep me from pretending. Give me courage to say what is true, humility to admit what I do not know, and peace to trust your wisdom over my image, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Teach Me to Be Honest

Name the question you cannot answer, tell God where you feel exposed, and ask for a humble reply or the grace to wait in silence.

Pray When You Do Not Know

Pray for teachers, parents, pastors, and friends who are asked hard questions, that they would answer honestly, avoid bluffing, and point people toward Jesus' authority.

For Leaders Who Answer

Lord, thank you that you are not threatened by my limits. Thank you that your authority does not depend on my approval. Teach me to trust you, to speak honestly, and to rest in your wise rule, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
