Pause, keep listening, and let the words shape what you do

Feel impressed for a moment and then move on as usual

Keep a respectful distance so the message does not unsettle you

Treat amazement itself as enough, without any response

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have heard your words, and I confess that I have often been amazed and then walked away. I admit my sin and my need for you. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you to forgive me, save me, and make me yours. Be my Lord, and keep me close to you. Amen.

Do Not Let Me Walk Away

Lord, awaken your Church from shallow amazement. When we hear your truth, keep us from leaving unchanged; deepen our reverence, strengthen our obedience, and draw us to remain with you. Make us a people who listen, tremble, and follow. Revive us for your glory, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Stay

Father, when I hear something true from Jesus, help me not to treat it as a momentary impression. Give me a listening heart, a willing mind, and courage to obey what I have heard. Hold me near your presence and keep me from simply walking away, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Keep Me from Moving On

Pray by naming the truth that stopped you, telling God where you are tempted to move on, and asking for one concrete act of obedience before the day ends.

How to Pray When You Are Amazed

Give thanks for Jesus' words that can astonish, correct, and call us back. Thank God for moments when truth interrupts your routine, and for the mercy of being invited to stay and listen.

Thank God for Words Worth Hearing

Pray for people who have heard Jesus but are still leaving him behind: for fresh wonder, for softened hearts, for someone to encourage them, and for the courage to return and listen again.

For Those Who Walk Away
