He is their God only as a figure of speech

He is a god associated with their descendants, not with them

Trust God to be active now and shape present choices

Keep faith as a family tradition without expecting anything from God today

Honor the old stories, but assume God no longer guides ordinary life

Admire God from a distance while leaving decisions unchanged

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned and need your mercy. I turn from my sin and cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Be my Lord and Savior, and bring me into the life of the living God. Amen.

Come to the Living Lord

Lord, revive your Church with the life that belongs to you, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Deliver us from dead religion and half-hearted trust. Make us a people who know you are alive, and who live and speak with hope, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church with Living Faith

Bring these before God: gratitude for his faithfulness through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; worship for his living presence today; thankfulness that his care has not ended with the past.

Faithful Through the Generations

Pray by naming one place where God feels distant or only historical. Thank him for one faithful thing he has already done, then ask him to make his living presence real to you today.

Pray for the Living Presence of God

Pray for people who think faith belongs only to earlier generations; for grieving families who need hope beyond death; and for believers to speak of the living God with courage and warmth.

Hope for People Who Need a Living God

Father, help me live today as if you are truly the God of the living. Keep me from treating you like history only, and teach me to trust your presence, obey your voice, and hope in you now, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
