Listen carefully and answer without contempt

Shut them down so they stop bothering you

Treat them politely only if you already agree with them

Push back by mocking the person who spoke

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned, resisted your voice, and needed your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you to save me. I confess you as Lord and open my life to you. Make me yours. Amen.

Receive Me, Lord Jesus

Lord, awaken your Church so we do not harden ourselves against the truth you send. Give us humility to hear correction, courage to honor your servants, and hearts ready to obey before anger takes over. Renew us to welcome your word with faith, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Receive Your Word

Father, bring healing to those who have been mocked, rejected, or harmed while trying to do what is right. Comfort the wounded, protect the vulnerable, and restore what cruelty has broken, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Heal Those Hurt by Hostility

Name one hard truth you have been avoiding. Ask God to help you listen without defensiveness, then ask him for one humble step of obedience you can take today.

Pray for a Teachable Response

Bring these topics to God: people who speak hard truth; servants and leaders who need courage; those who have been mistreated for serving; and your own heart's need for humility and restraint.

Pray for Those Who Speak Truth

Lord, thank you for the people you send to warn, guide, and care for us. Help me recognize their service as a gift and respond with gratitude instead of contempt, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
