Jesus rebukes the listeners as foolish and blind

Assume outward beauty tells you what is most holy

Treat holy things as important only when they are impressive

Lord, revive your church so we stop measuring worth by shine, cost, or appearance. Make us a people with clear eyes, humble hearts, and reverence for what you make holy. Let us honor your presence above all else and live as your people, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank God that what is holy is not measured by cost, shine, or outward impressiveness. Thank him that his presence gives real value to what belongs to him, and that he can teach us to prize what matters most.

Pray for people around you who are impressed by wealth, image, or prestige. Ask God to open their eyes to what he values, to guard them from shallow judgment, and to draw them toward reverence for him.
