That the master's expectations were already known

That the rules had changed after the servant failed

That the servant had no duty until results appeared

Carry out your task faithfully, even when no one is applauding

Delay until the work feels easier and safer

Hide what has been entrusted to you so no one can evaluate it

Do only the minimum necessary to avoid correction

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned, resisted your rule, and wasted what you entrusted to me. I turn from my sin and ask for your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and I receive you into my life. Teach me to live faithfully for you. Amen.

Receive Jesus as Lord

Lord, revive your Church where we have grown careless, idle, and slow to obey. Shake us out of spiritual laziness, make us honest before you, and renew in us a steady desire to do what you have entrusted to us. Let our lives honor your rule and bear fruit for your name, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Us to Faithful Service

Father, I confess the places where I have delayed, ignored duty, and hidden behind excuses. Forgive me, and give me a willing heart to do what is right today. Turn my laziness into obedience and my fear into faithful action, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Forgive My Excuses

Pray over the areas of your life that God has entrusted to you: work, family, time, money, ministry, and everyday responsibilities. Ask him to expose where you have been careless, to strengthen you for steady effort, and to help you honor him in small duties as well as large ones.

Entrust Me With Faithfulness

Name one task you have been putting off. Ask God for the courage to begin it, the humility to own it, and the perseverance to finish it with integrity today.

Pray Before One Delayed Task

Lord, I pray for anyone carrying responsibility with a weary heart. Give them clarity, energy, and joy to do their work faithfully, and protect them from excuses, cynicism, and fear. Strengthen them to serve you with integrity, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Strengthen Weary Servants
