If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and that I need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and open my life to you. You were shamed and struck, and I trust you to forgive me, wash me clean, and lead me as my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Come to the Savior Who Endured Shame

Lord, revive your Church where we have grown careless with your honor and too willing to follow the crowd. Give us fresh awe for Jesus, tenderness toward the shamed, and courage to stand against cruelty. Awaken us to reflect the dignity of your Son, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Reverence for Christ

Lord Jesus, thank you for enduring insult, pain, and humiliation for us. Thank you that your suffering reveals your love and your steadfastness. Teach us to honor you with grateful hearts, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Bearing Shame

Bring to God any harsh words you have spoken, any laughter at another person's shame, and any time you stayed silent while someone was being humiliated. Ask him to soften your heart, lead you to repentance, and make you quick to protect dignity.

Turn Us from Cruelty

Pray by naming one situation where someone is being mocked or dismissed. Ask God for courage to step in, wise words that protect dignity, and a quiet heart that does not join the crowd.

Ask for Courage to Interrupt Shame

Father, draw near to everyone who is mocked, bullied, persecuted, or treated as less than human. Strengthen them, heal what has been wounded, and place safe people around them. Let them know that Jesus understands shame and suffering, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
