Show them active care and pray for the people who oppose you

Keep away from them until they are easier to like

Ask God to deal with them while you do nothing yourself

Answer them with the same kind of harm they gave you

Choose their good even when they have been against you

Pray for the person who is mistreating you

Wait until they apologize before showing any kindness

Give them back the harm so they understand it

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned in my heart and in my actions, even toward people who have hurt me. I need your mercy and your saving love. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Teach me to love as you love and to pray for those who oppose me. Amen.

Receive Jesus and His New Heart

Lord, revive your church where resentment has made us cold. Give us hearts that love people who oppose us and lips that pray for those who mistreat us. Make us a people who answer hostility with the mercy of Jesus, and awaken us to reflect your heart in a divided world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your Church's Enemy-Love

Father, I confess that I often want to protect my pride, return harm for harm, or withhold love from people who hurt me. Forgive me and give me a softer heart. Help me obey Jesus by choosing love and prayer instead of resentment, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

A Heart That Refuses Revenge

Pray by naming the person honestly, telling God what happened, and asking him to help you bless that person without pretending the wrong was okay. Ask for a willing heart, one concrete act of good, and the grace to keep praying.

How to Pray for Someone Who Hurt You

Pray for people who are mocked, chased, or targeted because of their faith; for courage to keep loving instead of striking back; and for God's mercy to work in those who persecute others as well as those who are persecuted.

For Those Under Pressure

Give thanks for Jesus' command that stretches beyond friends, for a love that reaches enemies, for prayer that includes those who oppose us, and for the grace that can reshape the way we respond.
