If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and carry a debt I cannot pay. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for me and rose again. I trust you as my Lord and Savior and ask you to lead my life. Amen.

Receive the One Who Cancels Debt

Lord, revive your Church with mercy. Where we have kept records, erase our pride. Where we have treated forgiveness as a small thing, make it precious again. Give us clean hearts, quick repentance, and open hands toward one another, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Teach Us to Forgive as We Have Been Forgiven

Bring these to God: thanks that he forgives what you cannot repay; gratitude for the peace that comes when guilt is lifted; praise for the freedom to release bitterness; and wonder that mercy is greater than your failures.

Gratitude for Mercy Received

Father, I confess the ways I hold on to offense and keep accounts against others. Forgive me for asking for mercy while resisting it for them. Change my heart, help me release what I am carrying, and teach me to walk in your mercy, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Begin by naming the wrong honestly. Then ask God to forgive you where you have sinned, and ask him to soften your heart toward the person who hurt you. End by asking for one wise next step toward peace.

Pray Through a Hurt

Pray for: courage to forgive; humility to seek forgiveness where needed; wisdom to speak truth without revenge; and peace that is not built on keeping score.
