44. Formal Translation And on that day men were appointed over the chambers for the treasuries, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them from the fields of the cities the portions of the Law for the priests and for the Levites; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and over the Levites standing. |
44. Dynamic Translation On that day, men were assigned to oversee the storerooms for the treasures, gifts, firstfruits, and tithes, gathering from the fields around the towns the portions menayot required by the Law for the priests and Levites, because Judah was filled with simchat for the priests and Levites who were serving. |
