3. Formal Translation And I said to them, “The gates of Jerusalem are not to be opened until the heat of the sun; while they are yet standing there, let them shut the doors and bar them. Appoint guards from among the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each at his watch and each opposite his own house.” |
3. Dynamic Translation I told them, “Do not open Jerusalem’s gates until the sun is high; while the sentries remain on duty, have them close and bolt the doors. Also assign each man to his watch and to stand opposite his own house.” |
