Numbers 14:2:1וַיִּלֹּ֙נוּ֙vayillonuand they murmured

2. Formal Translation
And all the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and against Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died {matnu: perished, ceased to live} in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness.”
2. Dynamic Translation
All the Israelites complained against Moses and Aaron, and the entire community said to them, “We wish we had perished in Egypt—or here in this wilderness instead!”
