Exegesis

The Qal imperfect yit-ma' {יִטְמָא֙ | yit-māʾ} ‘becomes unclean’ and Hithpael imperfect yit-hat-ta' {יִתְחַטָּא | yit-ḥaṭ-ṭāʾ} ‘purifies himself’ express the hypothetical action.
