Exegesis
The consequence clause follows with lāḵēn lō tavī’û {לָכֵן לֹא תָבִיאוּ | lāḵēn lō tavī’û} ‘therefore you will not bring’, applying the prohibition to ha-qāhāl hazzē {הַקָּהָל הַזֶּה | ha-qāhāl hazzē} ‘this assembly’ and defining the scope with the relative clause ʾel-hā’āreṣ ʾăšer nāṯattî lāhem {אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לָהֶם | ʾel-hā’āreṣ ʾăšer nāṯattî lāhem} ‘into the land that I have given them’. The translation retains the Hebrew causal-consecutive sequence and renders the Hifil constructions in active English to preserve the original voice.
