3 Yes, all who wait for You {YHWH, Merciful Protector} will not be shamed; let the traitors {ha-bogedim: Unfaithful Ones} be shamed for no cause.
4 LORD {YHWH: Moral Director}, let me understand Your ways; teach me Your paths {orkhot: routes for living}.
5 Lead me in Your truth {emet: firm reliability} and teach me, for You are the God {Elohei, Saving One} who saves me; for You I have waited all day.
6 Remember, O LORD {YHWH, Ancient Redeemer}, Your compassions {rahamekha: profound compassion} and Your kindnesses, for they date from eternity.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; in Your mercy {chesed: steadfast loyal love} remember me for the sake of Your goodness, O LORD {YHWH, Forgiving Covenant-Keeper}.
8 The LORD {YHWH, Moral Standard} is good and upright; that is why He teaches sinners the way {derekh: Path of Life}.
9 He {YHWH, Righteous Instructor} directs the humble in justice {mishpat: fair judgment}, and He teaches the humble His way.
10 Every path of the LORD {YHWH, Faithful Guide} is marked by steadfast love and faithfulness for those who observe His covenant {berit: binding agreement} and His testimonies.
11 For Your name’s sake, O LORD {YHWH, Forgiving One}, forgive my iniquity {avon: moral guilt}, because it is great.
12 Who is this man who fears the LORD {YHWH, Revered Guide}? He will instruct him in the way {derekh: life path} he should choose.
13 His soul {nefesh: life essence} will remain in goodness, and his offspring will inherit the land {erets: territory}.
14 The secret {sod: confidential counsel} of the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Revealer} is for those who fear Him, and His covenant He makes known to them.
15 My eyes stay fixed on the LORD {YHWH, Deliverer}, for He {Faithful Guardian} will deliver my feet from the net.
16 Turn to me and be gracious {chanan: show favor} to me, for I am solitary {yachid: profound solitude} and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart {levavi: inner self} have grown large; bring me out from my distresses {metsukotai: narrow constraints}.
18 See my affliction {onyi: prolonged suffering} and my trouble {amali: burdensome toil}, and forgive all my sins.
19 Observe my enemies, for they are numerous; they hate me with a hatred {sin’at: fierce aversion} of violence {khamas: wrongful aggression}.
20 Guard my soul {nafshi: life-essence}, and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I have taken refuge in You {atah: Steadfast Guardian}.
21 May integrity {tom: moral wholeness} and uprightness guard me, for I have waited for You.
22 Redeem Israel, O God {Elohim, Deliverer}, from all his troubles {tzarotav: afflictions}.
