Psalms 24TAB

A psalm of David. The earth and its fullness {meloah: total content} belong to the LORD {YHWH, Sovereign Owner}, as do the world and all who dwell there.

For He {hu, Cosmic Architect} set it in place over the seas {yamim: saltwater expanses} and made it firm over the rivers.

Who is fit to go up the hill of the LORD {YHWH, Exalted One}, and who may remain standing in His {hu: Divine Ownership} holy place?

The one with clean hands and a pure heart, who has not aimed his soul {nefesh: life force} at emptiness, nor sworn deceit {mirmah: deliberate falsehood}.

He will receive a blessing from the LORD {YHWH, Source of Blessings} and righteousness {tsedaqah: covenant standing} from the God of his salvation.

Such is the generation of those who seek Him {hu: Covenant Companion}, who pursue Your face {panekha: favor}, O God of Jacob {Elohei Yaakov: Sovereign Lord}. Selah.

Raise up your heads, O gates {she'arim: thresholds}; be lifted high, everlasting {olam: perpetual} doors, so that the King of glory may enter.

Who is this King of glory? The LORD {YHWH, Sovereign Warrior}—strong and mighty; the LORD—mighty in battle {milchamah: armed conflict}.

Lift up your heads {rasheikhem: gate lintels}, you gates, and lift them up, you eternal doors, so that the King of glory {melekh ha-kavod, Sovereign of Majesty} may enter.

Who is He, this King of glory? The LORD of hosts {YHWH Tsevaot, Commander of Hosts}—He is the King of glory {kavod: radiant splendor}. Selah.
