The purpose clause hina anapaēsontai ek tōn kopōn autōn {ἵνα ἀναπαήσονται ἐκ τῶν κόπων αὐτῶν | hína anapaḗsontai ek tōn kópōn autōn} ‘so that they will rest from their labors’ is followed by the explanatory gar-clause ta gar erga autōn akolouthei met’ autōn {τὰ γὰρ ἔργα αὐτῶν ἀκολουθεῖ μετʼ αὐτῶν | tà gàr érga autōn akoloutheî met’ autōn} ‘for their works follow with them,’ linking eternal rest to the lasting impact of their deeds.
