Exegesis
The subject ho angelos {ὁ ἄγγελος | ho ángelos} ‘the angel’ is introduced once and then understood for the subsequent aorist verbs, which present three decisive actions: ebalen {ἔβαλεν | é-ba-len} ‘cast’ his sickle into the earth, etrýgēsen {ἐτρύγησεν | e-trý-gē-sen} ‘harvested’ the vine, and again ebalen {ἔβαλεν | é-ba-len} ‘cast’ the harvested vine into the winepress.
