The subject ho deuteros {ὁ δεύτερος | ho deúteros} “the second” is understood as the second angel, executing the verb execheen tēn phialēn autou eis tēn thalassan {ἐξέχεεν τὴν φιάλην αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν | exé-khe-en tḗn phiálēn autoû eis tḗn thá-lassan} “poured out his bowl into the sea.”
