1 Then I heard a great voice from the temple speaking to the seven angels: “Go, and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God {Theos, Holy Judge} onto the earth {ge: Inhabited World}.”
2 And the first {protos: first in order} went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a harmful and painful sore came upon the people who had the mark {charagma: ownership sign} of the beast and those who worshipped its image.
3 And the second angel poured out his bowl {phiale: judgment vessel} into the sea, and it became blood like a corpse {nekros: dead body}, and every living soul died that was in the sea.
4 And the third angel {tritos: third judgment stage} poured out his bowl upon the rivers and the springs of the waters, and it became blood {haima: lethal judgment sign}.
5 And I heard the angel {angelos: overseeing messenger} of the waters say, “Righteous are You {Theos, Eternal Judge}, the One who is and who was, the Holy One, because You have judged these things.”
6 Because they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, You {Theos, Righteous Judge} have given them blood to drink; they are worthy {axioi: deserving just recompense}.
7 And I heard the altar saying, “Yes, Lord God the Almighty {Kyrios Theos Pantokrator, Righteous Judge}, true and just are Your judgments {kriseis: verdicts rendered}.”
8 And the fourth {tetartos: fourth messenger} angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire {puri: consuming flame}.
9 And the people were scorched by great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God {Theos, Righteous Judge}, Who holds authority {exousia: rightful power} over these plagues; and they did not repent to give Him glory.
10 And the fifth angel poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast, and his kingdom {basileia: realm of authority} became darkened, and they were biting their tongues because of the pain {ponos: intense suffering}.
11 And they blasphemed the God {Theos, Supreme Judge} of heaven because of their pains {ponos: intense suffering} and because of their sores, and they did not repent from their deeds.
12 And the sixth angel poured out his bowl {phiale: judgment vessel} upon the great river, the Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way for the kings from the rising {anatole: dawn region} of the sun might be prepared.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon {drakon: Satanic Power Symbol}, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet {pseudoprophetes: Deceptive Religious Spokesman}.
14 For they are spirits {pneumata: personal evil agents} of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole inhabited world, to gather them for the battle of the great day of God the Almighty {Theos ho Pantokrator, Final Judge}.
15 Look, I {Iesous, Sudden Returning Judge} am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who remains watchful and keeps his garments, so that he may not walk around unclothed and his shame {aschemosyne: public disgrace} is revealed.
16 And he gathered {synegagen: assembled for battle} them into the place {topos: destined location} that is called in Hebrew Armageddon.
17 And the seventh {hebdomos: final in sequence} angel poured out his bowl upon the air, and a great voice {phone: decisive announcement} came out of the temple from the throne, saying, “It is done.”
18 And there were flashes of lightning, and voices, and peals of thunder, and there was a great earthquake {seismos: massive shaking}—such as had not been since men {anthropoi: human beings} were upon the earth—so mighty an earthquake, so great.
19 And the great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and Babylon the great was remembered before God {Theos, Ultimate Judge}, to give her the cup of the wine of the fury of His wrath {orge: settled indignation}.
20 And every island {nesos: isolated landmass} fled, and the mountains {ore: towering heights} were not found.
21 And great hail, like a talent in weight, falls from heaven upon the people, and the people blasphemed God {Theos, Supreme Judge} because of the plague {plege: calamity, blow} of the hail, for the plague was exceedingly great.
